i found a really old, ok just old post from friendster that i did and i felt so good after reading it i decided to post it again! (just in case i forget that blog)

Christmas

Who really takes the time to slow down and really ponder about our life now, what we did in the past year, stupid things we did and the things we regretted not doing (i'm an expert in this area). i recently did my reflection for the past year and boy i think i'm satisfied to a certain extent only. tho' i did really regret on doing certain things, i sincerely believe things happen for a reason. well. smth made me reflect. and to reflect on the true meaning of christmas. one article in the papers really flashed a bold 'stop' sign in my face. christmas in singapore has become so commercialised and the true meaning is really lost. we have become materialistic slaves and where is our true empathetic side?

Visits to old folks home and seeing disasters happening round the world makes me feel so privillege not only to live in singapore but also to be able to celebrate christmas. others out there are fighting to survive and wondering when are they gonna have their next meal whereas singaporeans are wrecking their brains to buy presents and wondering what they will receive (the latest gadgets or tickets to plays). why is it on the streets people just walk away from the salvation army and approach the nearby shop that shouts STOREWIDE SALE. so do we still appreciate and understand the true meaning of christmas? call me a party pooper or what else you'd prefer but i think the true meaning is being lost.

Maybe reflection in the church will help you as it did to me. staring at baby jesus, without a crib for a bed and how he sacrificed himself for the greater good. christmas really is the spirit of giving. and i do not mean buying and contributing to the economy but giving to the needy.
christmas christmas christmas. i hope i did not dampen your mood cause i really felt better when i did my reflection. right now is the time to usher in the new year. well.
time to party everyone. it's a new year. and new year means new beginnings and endings to the past misdeeds. hopefully we can fulfil our new year resolutions if we have any in the first place. well then for now. enjoy?

ice cube anyone?
