Open House
Wednesday, March 14, 2007

University Open House was a bash.
Nothing seem short of happiness.
Oh So Random.

NUS is still the best. It feels like home at the open house, tho we felt really down at 2 occasions.
I met Elaine at the Open House after arriving there with byn and met her friend chee keong i think. Elaine and i are still so freakin persistant on checkin out the law school. Tho even if i apply, i know i'll get rejected because of the tough high benchmark standard our year has set for us. But nonetheless, i decided to try it out, i mean since it was my childhood dream, no harm trying. I'm happy for my GP grade because our year the GP sucks, as in the people are bad in GP. So this will give me the advantage. Please. Let me play on my GP grade. Thank You!

We headed down to the Law School booth and met this really nice man there. After a long chat did we realise that he's a final year student at NUS. wow! he doesn't look like or sound like- i meant that in a good way. He's so humble and eloquent but doesnt present himself like well, a lawyer. Who cares man, if he can survive til now, he's definitely a man of substance. After that long chat, he decided to guess which college we are from. And BOy that was the joke of the day. haha. He looked at Elaine and said Hwa Chong? I laughed. then he looked at me and said Raffles? *faints*

Are only these 2 schools capable of producing lawyers? i mean that's so stereotypical of them. aargh!!!! But well, on a lighter note we must have impressed him with our conversion and communication skills that he chose to mention and label those schools with us. Oh How I'd Wish.

He later asked us to try out the Bukit Timah Campus (BTC) and see what it really is, life over at law school and we're like... err, okkay. We'll see. He happily added that "We include a free shuttle service!" haha. damn funny.

We proceeded on to FASS and i was captivated by the Philo teacher. i think he's inspirational. He's down to earth and unafraid of scaring you off with the workload and tons of reading material. But i think it's a cool subject. Political Science too. I'm so Legal after all. haha

After a long debate and endless "so what you wanna do" and "you wanna go or not ah" by the 2 of us, we walked and thought about it all the way to the shuttle service area, we decided to go. Altho the people queing looked really smart and cool, okay i think we were feeling inferior.

After all that sight seeing round the campus, especially kent ridge and king george area, i thought that it's really prestigious to be studying and living in NUS. darn. it's so beautiful. But not until i went to the BTC.

It's really beautiful and undescribable. It's just like je ne sais quoi. It's a feeling you have to be be there to really feel it. It's makes you feel all so grown up and serious. It's like the world's your playground. After much thought Elaine and i came to an agreement that this Campus is like an exclusive club that you can enter only with your academic grades.Only the Law School and Lee Kuan Yew's School of Public Policy is situated there. Sigh. It's make me wanna do my A's all over again. The old buildings, wooden doors, glass panels, big open fields like those you see in legally blonde where the students sit to discuss their works. It's a Dream Come True. They even have a Moot court for fake trials. I just wanna go back there. The new building is better. Air conditioned corridors and a Giant Library. So prestigious. I miss the place already.

The talk was really interesting and the students there were really hip. Actually, there are tons of eye-candies too. One guy was particularly attractive. He's so comfortable on the floor, speaking, creating jokes and he really changed the motion of old-fashioned thinking that lawyers are boring and serious and well, stuck-up, cause they are really nice. Maybe except for the few others whom are different in race. If you get what i mean. Anyway, he's so nice and even mentioned that well, the whole group of them are trying to get a new word into the dictionary and to think for the moment we thought he was serious til he told us the word.
"Chillax"= Chill out + relax.
He explained that it's exactly what they do. They study hard and play hard. Tho it may sound cliched, it's a anchor that's brings you back to earth. I really need to wake up. The profs there are super funny and sarcastic to a certain extent. i mean, they are selling their school after all so it's rather normal if they are a lil proud.
They went to an extent of giving an analogy while answering one of the question that came from the floor. He stated and asked us to compare 2 companies.
The scenario was : One day, you decided to open a new company, let's say, limited resources, and because of that, specialise in one particular area as in Singapore's concern. Comeon' everyone present knew who they were talking about. For those in lala-land, another clue. He asked us to compare which company you'd chose if given a chance.
"An established for > 50years school or one that's just set up" boy, they are proud.

Oh i met Marcus from MSC there. But he acted dumb. Also kirsten and Step Choh.
I kinda liked the idea that they had regarding Movie nights and Clubbing nights. i think it's quite cool and a great bonding session. Well that's it. It's really a good experience to step into the BTC. I might end up there again if i study hard enough now for future studies. I hope i will. Will put up pictures i took from both campuses next.

Sigh, while typing this i just signed up for my SATs. I'm gonna sit for it, hoping that i will do well, and well, get into SMU for a particular course that i'm aiming for.
I'm gonna do it right.

Oh and my lst day of work is well, tomorrow. I wouldn't mind working there again. The next time i'll go back is like 2 April but then i'was thinkin it's a waste of time cause i don't really earn much, and it's a punishment for rejecting a better job offer previously. I mean, $7/Hr, $10 OT. Where can you get this kinda job. I WANT!!!!!! But the only thing that's making me stay is my nice boss, minus the middle-age assistant, and the freakin friendly people on the 18th. I'll Miss You guys. You people definitely made my first job a very pleasant experience. Namely: Gladys, Florence, Sook Wai, Alicia, Wendy, Hong Chiew. You 6 made lunch hour the happy hour. haha. Plus Francine. But girl, i've known you since Kindergarten.

I met the durian man today. He got his name because of the conversion i heard. It's really dumb and i dont' see why he can bother to argue.
"Singaporeans have bad taste.Because they like durians" Debate on that please. He's coming up with funny accusations and senseless proofs. Come on. Go back and take your GP again. Lemme start with definitions. Def : BAD TASTE. bad taste in food, fashion... So why just pick on durians because you hate it.

Another is when you thought eating gizzards digusting. Well man, i've only got something to ask and tell you. What did YOU eat for lunch. Let's say: Chicken Breast. I'll tell him, "issn't it disgusting to eat a Chicken's Breast? Imagine them killing the chicken just to rip the breast and feed a man like you? oh wait a MCP as you proclaimed that you are." Have you ever heard that ONE MAN'S FOOD IS ANOTHER MAN's POISION? just shut up dc.
Let me further elaborate to prove my point that he's irritating. This guy has a habit of putting 5 to 7 teaspoons of sugar into his coffee. The people in his office cares and tells him not to cause it's bad for health. But he rebuts and says ARE YOU GUYS BECOMNG MY DOCTORS NOW? wth. gad. We plan to serve him also out of kindness, sugar with coffee on our last day of work, just to make him happy. I also feel like telling him. people do NOT care about you. it;s the fact that you're depleting our sugar supply.

Today he even admitted that he's an MCP. We later asked him then why did you marry, since your wife is a woman. He said ''because she's not a FEMINIST" How senseless can you get.

This portion is devoted to him. Cause i do want to remember such a man like him living in our society. He's 40+ and his wife 20+. Francine said she must be deaf. Mean right.

well.. that's working life and it's also interesting to meet this kinda people cause you really feel human. haha. he's inHUMAN.haha. thank you. sarcastically.he's really proud.he thinks people actually lose mini debates to him because they walk off without saying a word. MISTER! think of it as the other way around. It's because the people DO NOT BOTHER arguing with a senseless man like you.

Ok.time to sleep and prepare for last day of work and days of preparation for the SATs ahead! woohoo.. and i still want my red nano!gimme gimme gimme!

oh i love last tues. fran and i were sharing an umbrella, on our way from work to ps to buy SAT books when it rained halfway at hong lim. oh my gosh, we we so drenched that we might as well not carry the brolly and just run. that's how drenched we were. and to think we protected the company's letters instead. stupid right? and we ended up wet like we just came out from the washing machine. we headed down to carrefour to buy clothes and shoes first. can you imagine, spending unnecessary money on rainy days clothes. haha.

after days of normal life activities, i dreamt of you last night.
we were doing things together. happily and like a couple. why.
why did i think of you.
are you in my snbconscience?
